Gee, wasn’t there anybody from the USCF office (in Crossville) present that could have sent the information to Jennifer Shahade (for CLO) or Dan Lucas (for the printed edition of Chess Life)?
Looks to me like a USCF staff member directed this 8 player event, which ended on July 16th.
It was on Chess Life Online.
Then it seems to me it got about as much coverage as it should have expected, and probably more than it has gotten in the past.
Since it ended in mid-July, it would have been difficult to get more than a few paragraphs into Chess Life any earlier than the October issue, anyway.
