I sponsor a small high school chess club, we have one these boards (the others are standard vinyl ones).
after 2 school years it’s dirty. Most websites say that they are washable. Does this mean machine washable? or in the kitchen sink? or out in the back yard with the water hose?
As the school year ends and summer aproaches I would like to take it home and wash it, but i’m not sure how?
I have one of these and a few people in my club also have one.
We all have washed ours in the washing machine, with a little standard laundry detergent, on cold and singly without anything else in the machine.
Also, do not put the thing in the dryer because the rubber might melt or at least pull away from the board material. I have just let it dry draped over the back of a kitchen chair or something like that.
By the way, I like this board b/c it folds up as well as rolls up. By folding it, the board, piesces, clock, scorebook, and pencils, can all fit in a $5.00 lunch box from Wal-Mart instead of a 20.00 tournament carry bag.
