An interesting article on Tarjan. It mention him retiring from chess in 1984. Didn’t he play a 17 game blitz match with Fischer sometime around then? I think it was 1982-1985, but can’t remember the year; just the 17-0 result for Fischer.

A very inspiring article. I wish I could recapture some of the ability I had in 1971-75. After graduating from college in 1980, I began a very rewarding career in the field of abstracting and indexing. Business, economic and technical information. Great line of work, but it really ruined my ability to do things like plan several moves ahead and predict the moves of an opponent. Sadly, the career was shipped off to India in 2003.
