For those who had not heard it, two American players (IMs Joshua Friedel and David Pruess) have just finished playing in an Open tournament in France. The word I hear is that Pruess made his second GM norm there. So both players now have two GM norms.

Both these players (and GM Shabalov) are registered in another Open tournament which begins tomorrow in Germany. The web site is here:

Confirmed! Congratulations to David Pruess for sharing first place in France and earning his second GM norm. Good look to both Josh and David as they pursue their Grandmaster dreams in Bad Wiessee.
