Now that was an engrossing game - for me, the first of the match. Both players were coming up with some fantastic concepts - and the FIDE commentary was excellent. I learned a lot from that game and will never again refer to the Berlin Defense endgame variation as a complete bore. Let’s hope for 8 more games of that caliber!

Both game 4 and game 5 required Anand to make a lot of precise moves - and while up to the task in game 4, he was not in game 5. Pressure pressure pressure - eventually it tends to pay off. Both Fischer and Kasparov played this way.
