Baku Grand Prix

Go Nakamura!

He drew vs. Svidler. Caruana beat Karjakin & Gelfand beat Andreikin. The rest were drawn.

Karjakin lost 15 minutes due to an equipment malfunction, which put him in time trouble at a bad stage of the game. That was probably a big contribution to his losing.

He had went to the rest area to get a drink and snack, and was watching the board on the display in the rest area. Something went wrong, and the moves stopped getting transmitted to that display so when Caruana moved after 10 minutes, Karjakin did not see it. It wasn’t until 15 more minutes had passed that Karjakin left the rest area and found out the true state of the game.
