Is there software out there that both allows users to chat via real-time audio or audio-video connection and includes a chessboard interface in which one or both users can move pieces of either color? I found Shindig, but I can’t get it to load in any browser, and I’m not 100 percent certain that it does these things anyway.
I believe you can do this with the free version of Skype. You get the normal voice connection but also have the option for computer (A) to display the screen of computer (B) instead of its own. The operator of (B) can then load ChessBase (or some other program with a board and pieces) and the two can talk though only (B) will be able to move the pieces.

Huh. What a coincidence – I just installed Skype! I’ll have to give that a try.
