In racing to get ahead of changes to the GDB downloads, WinTD had a update build (5.10e) that the Windows uninstaller didn’t like. The g build uses a different product code and so skirts around that.
The updated description for how to install the all ratings file is
That changed from when I tested it back in December.
I have urged the people at US Chess to make it possible to (again) download the TSV programmatically.
Nolan, what date in February will the March published ratings source come out? If we have a tournament on February 28 which should be after the March Published Ratings are produced, do we still use the February published ratings since the tournament is in February or are we supposed to use the published ratings that come out the latest BEFORE the February 28 tournament even though it is for March?
The cutoff is the 3rd Wednesday of the month, which is the 18th. It should be available on MUIR some time on the 19th, probably mid to late afternoon. Last month the process fell through the cracks, hopefully whatever caused that to happen has been addressed.
Under the rules, unless otherwise announced players should expect you to use the official ratings list as of the starting date of the event, so a February 28th event would normally use the February list. If you’re going to use a different list or use unofficial ratings, you should let players know that in advance publicity, as that could affect their decision as to whether or not to enter your event.
Here’s a player (picked pretty much at random) and as you can see, the big boxes at the top have his February official rating and the ratings list tab shows both January and February official ratings for this individual.
Nolan, I don’t get to see the window you are seeing with official ratings for the months of January and February. What address was that link? Wait, I can blow the screen size up on this cell phone to see the address.
GO to the TD portal and on the left side you should see a ‘published ratings’ tab
I haven’t tried it on a cell phone, though. The site isn’t really optimized for a cell phone, the plan is to have an app that is better organized for cell phone use.
Yeah, it works a bit better for ratings, but it sometimes won’t display all the information on a player that you’d see on a bigger screen. Crosstable are messier.
