I’m interested in collecting examples of difficult pairings. You know the kind … tricky transposition and interchanges, hard to find opponents in the score group that haven’t already met, that sort of thing.
(I’m having trouble describing in words what I’m looking for, but I’m willing to bet experienced TDs know exactly what I mean.)
Well, yes, but that’s not quite what I’m looking for. In that particular case, it is not an exceedingly difficult problem to list every possible pairing and choose the best. (There are three possible ways of pairing four players if one ignores color allocation and twelve possible ways if one counts color allocation.) In that case, the problem becomes defining “best.”
