CNN recently had a story on chess boxing.
We can only look forward to new sporting initiatives by FIDE in its quest to make chess an Olympic sport. Such as chess and:
croquet
rhythmic gymnastics
Roman wrestling
synchronized swimming
dodgeball
pairs ice skating (of course the Russians would dominate here, too)
curling
wave boarding
Feel free to add your own sport to this list.
I like to play disc golf (a.k.a Frisbee® Golf) may be the USCF could follow FIDE’s lead and strike a deal with the PDGA (Professional Disc Golf Assoc.). Both games suffer from a skepticism and lack of enthusiasm with the American public. It would be a perfect match! *

- a large amount of sarcasm was used in the above post!
Oh yeah Darts and Horse Shoes … I love to play Darts, and Horshoes too!
We could have Corn Hole in the tournament halls!!
A good example of shuttle diplomacy.
Chess and lawn darts?
Hm…the U.S. government says that’s a bad thing…
