First Internet-based Arbiters Seminar Underway

Yeah. I know the feeling. I finished the exam, did the electronic equivalent of throwing the blue book over the wall, and hurried off to run a Massachusetts Chess Association (MACA) board meeting. At this point I’m curled up in the fetal position, sucking on my thumb … (Yes, I know … TMI)

Well over TMI…

It was a struggle to complete the test while running the state closed championship. I could have used another 1/2 hour to make up for time I missed.

Aw, c’mon … it was a round robin. You put all the pairings up in the morning, you tell them to play nice, and you remind them “size matters.” Then you go find a quiet corner and work on the test. :smiling_imp:

If it were only that easy - sigh!

I see your state closed championship, and raise you one seven-year-old boy and his eight-year-old cousin. Nothing like reviewing FLC Article 10.2 while listening to the soothing sounds of SpongeBob SquarePants in the next room.

The exams have all been graded and Takis will release the information on Monday in regards to who passed and who did not. Those that did pass will also have their grades shown. This will be listed on the FIDE website.

Yes I know who passed/not-passed. No I won’t tell you. So don’t ask

However what I can say is that for the most part the results were what I expected with a couple of surprises. I am quite pleased.

Walter will be busy to get FA applications turned in prior to the Congress in the autumn. After Monday those of you that passed should start getting your ducks in a row in regards to your FA certificate of title results and not let Walter get bombarded with having to do it all himself. The more you can help him (doing things the right way) the more that can be done by Walter.

We did have a total of 17 participants on the seminar of which 15 took the exam.

The breakdown of USCF director status for all 17 participants was: 4 NTD’s, 0 ANTDs, 5 Sr TDs, 4 Local TDs, 1 Club TD, 1 Mexican Federation TD, and 2 Canadian Federation TDs.

I will be surprised if I passed. I answered at least one question with, “Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?”

Sponge Bob!!! Do I pass??

I’m sorry, but that is an incomplete answer. The correct answer is, “SpongeBob SquarePants”. :stuck_out_tongue:

I was going to say “Gary”. Meow.
