There might also be other situations, besides just check, where 11B could prove awkward. Perhaps 11B should explicitly allow the TD to alter the number of moves, from ten to some other number, whenever he feels such a change is warranted. And then a TD Tip could mention that cases involving check would be primary examples of such situations.

This probably deserves its own thread. A problem might arise when you combine correction of a (remote) illegal move with no time adjustment. And allowing a time adjustment would be awkward since a) the next round has to be started and b) both players are guilty of ignoring the illegal move.
