Wayne, it is a little hard to tell. We don’t keep track of who is a JTP player and who is not. For the K-3 sections, we only check to see if they have a USCF ID and then we select the scholastic JTP option for the section when submitting.

If you user your pairing software to sort your primary players by expiration date, then simply counting the expired players would give you the number.

If you submit the tournament on-line and do the first check without JTP that would also give you the players that are expired. You then turn on JTP and re-check the tournament.

Just taking a look at the “tournament checking” email from yesterdays tournament

Lower Primary - (K-1) 37/62 players were JTP
Upper Primary - (2-3) 23/70 players were JTP

So that would total 60/132 players were JTP = 45.5% of K-3 players were JTP

If a section is marked “Primary (K-3)” will it automatically pass validation regardless of non-members (assuming ages are correct, and the only warning flag is “not a current member”)?

```
Any limit (or percentage limit) on non-members for K-3?
```

I’ve found that as long as there is an ID number for all the players in the JTP section then it has validated, even when a pair of digits in one of the ID numbers had been transposed and an older player was listed. Double-check those notes to catch things like that.

How much older, Jerry?

It uses a sanity check on the birthdates, but the parameters are fairly broad.

Send me the specifics (event ID and player IDs) via email ([mnolan@uschess.org](mailto:mnolan@uschess.org)).
