One of the players in my online tournaments contacted me about Lincoln, Nebraska area clubs-a. which offer at least monthly tournaments, and b. which would let him “learn the ropes” as a new tournament director.
Any one have ideas??

Sounds like Mike Nolan’s territory to me.

http://nebraskachess.com/ is the state chapter website. I see a phone number there for Mike Gooch, who is their President. There is also a tab for clubs. Those are often outdated, but a good place to start.
I haven’t been involved in the Lincoln Chess Club for some years. Most of the players and TDs of my era have moved on, one way or another.
There was a Lincoln City Championship last fall, directed by Michael Mills, I don’t think I know him. Looks like it drew about 38 players, half of them from the Lincoln area. It appears there were about 10 tournaments in Lincoln in the past year.
Mike Gooch is probably the best starting point for a contact, even though he lives in Omaha. His contact info should be on the NSCA site somewhere.
The Lincoln Chess Club affiliate has been inactive since 2008.

Mr. Nolan, you are anything but random, and thank you for the information.
