MUIR Tip: How to 'unrelease' an event

The final step for TDs before an event is released for payment is to fill out the release form on the Submission page, including the list of prizes for money prize floors and acknowledge the compliance notice.

But suppose after you’ve released an event for payment you discover a problem with it (like forgetting to mark a section as FIDE rated). To ‘unrelease’ the event, you need to go back to the compliance form on the submission page and there is a ‘cancel’ button at the bottom (see screen shot.) Click on that to unrelease the event, and you should get a popup asking you to confirm cancelling the release.

This should take the event back to a point where it can be edited and then re-released.

Is this feature listed in the user manual?

I don’t know, I’m not involved in working on the user manual. I just found out about this today, but others had asked about it in the Forums, so I figured it would make sense to post about it.

Thank you for posting this feature. I will probably be using this 10-20 times per year!

What about releasing more than one event at a time and paying for all of them at once?

I don’t see paying for multiple events at the same time on the incident log, but there are a couple of ‘ominbus’ ones it might be buried in. (I created a separate ticket for it anyway.)

I suspect this will not be available at rollout.
