National Chess Day Tournaments

I’m in the middle of running the Bedford Rating Round Robins, two ten player FIDE rated round robins each featuring 6 unrated players (USCF over 1800) and 4 rated players (FIDE below 2200). Time control is GAME/60 + 30 second increment, and we have had no trouble starting the rounds on time or giving players enough time off. There are players here from all six New England states, Oklahoma, and Canada. After three rounds there are no threes and no zeros. First prize in each RR is $300, with $150 for second and $50 for third.

This is a grueling run with three games a day for three days, but the players seem to be having fun.

Alex Relyea

Good job to Alex and Ken! 12 new FIDE rated amateur/class players will be made as a result of this tournament!

And maybe some more IOs?
