What are the norm possibilities?
What does Naroditsky need for a GM norm? Any others possible?
As usual, I understand that Krush cannot get a GM norm in the Women’s Championship; that norm is unavailable regardless of score.

I’m no expert, but I don’t think norms are a possibility. Most of the players won’t play the requisite nine rounds, and all of the players are US-based, so it might not meet the international requirements.
(awaits to be severely corrected)
International requirements are waived by virtue of being the national championships.
However the minimum of 9 rounds does have to be met in some fashion. Only in the Women’s does it appear that norm possibilities may exist for Camilla, Tatev and Sabina (if she gets by Anna in the playoff). All three of them have played 3 IM’s (Krush, Goletiani, Zatonskih). I haven’t looked at avg rating of opponent to determine score requirements, assuming the knockout matches would qualify, which they could assuming the format was pre-approved for norm purposes. There could be some kinks in the process but I think if properly planned out norms could be possible with pre-approval. Have to first do the math to figure out the avg rating of opponent and then look at different combinations given the semi-finals and finals.
In the future planning for these events, we should seek whatever pre-approvals are possible. These are good norm opportunities for our players, as far as we are from the chess motherland of Europe, because the international requirements are waived.
Perhaps an EB member or the ED could tell us whether this was checked out. It hope it was.
Yes, if the tournament formats received pre-approval, I would think Tatev Abrahamyan’s 5.5/9 would be sufficient for another WGM-norm.
Although I could understand if there’d be a FIDE objection to earning a norm in a format where one plays the same opponent (Baginskaite) three times in a 9-round tournament.
