Around an hour ago Friday evening something kind of problem developed with the US Chess, it seems to be affecting access between the servers in Tennessee and the servers at AWS.
Technicians are looking into it.
Update: This appears to be part of a regional Internet outage affecting parts of the southeastern US.
I don’t think it is AWS’s problem, if it was the Forums wouldn’t be working. TD/A and the webstore aren’t working because they need a working connection to the servers in TN. Oddly enough, I can get to the servers in TN, but I can’t reach AWS from there. But my path to TN goes through Kansas City and Nashville.
I think the problem is a regional outage in the southeast, I’ve heard it affects Birmingham AL among others.
The consultants are working on moving the database server from TN to the cloud (AWS, probably), that would likely minimize problems like this, but of course it might create the potential for other problems.
Looks like the problem was resolved somewhere around midnight central time.
