Does anybody else play online, then OFTEN, you make a game winning move, so your opponent will just let his clock run out. It’s not a huge deal if there’s only a few minutes on the clock, but if their’s like 20+ minutes, it’s beyond rude.

The sheer frequency of that happening is just mind boggling. I can’t play more than a 3 or 4 games, often less, without an opponent doing that.

Part of the issue is I usually play on my cell phone, and if the program isn’t on top, it will automatically cut the connection after a little while. So I’m stuck watching the clock run down the entire time.

It’s a common practice, unfortunately.

Unfortunately, it happens OTB too. Some people are VERY bad losers.

When that happens, I post a comment on the player’s page explaining why I am blocking them AND then I block them. Probably doesn’t do much (I’ve noticed others also posting similar messages on the same opponents) but it makes me feel a bit better.

I have a friend who annoys them by sending a challenge every day. If they accept, he aborts the game.

amazingly enough it happens in correspondence chess as well-there you might wait over a month-pretty incredible!
