President's Report July 2012 Chess Life

I read with great pleasure President Haring’s article pg.12 of July’s CL. I especially like the positive looking-toward-the-future tone. Her use of the phrase “think out of the box” is very similar to my use of a phrase in a prior forum topic I.e. " to think outside the 64 squares " . I was soundly lambasted by many a responder for using a meaningless cliche.

At least President Haring understands that these are not empty words.

President Haring is a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, she can’t “broom clean” the Tennessee office on her own.

I noticed Bill Hall’s e-mail today as a first attempt to communicate better with the membership. It is a step forward.
