Question on TD ruling

Even after Tim replies that paid entrants should be paired, you still wish to deny a paying player his due. Do you offer refunds to these players you deny a pairing? If not, you’re at least in violation of the TD standards of competence, in my opinion.

Terry,

People usually close with a statement of what was most important in their message. Tim’s last statement was:

My methods have evolved from directing a large number of tournaments of a wide range of sizes, both open and scholastic. It is what makes the most of my customers happy. If a customer complains, I may consider paying to add in my TLAs as was suggested a check-in requirement to play in the first round.

To me this is a lot like meeting etiquette. Don’t punish those that are on time by making them wait for the late. Get things started promptly. Those who are late will miss what they miss and, more importantly, will probably make more of an effort to be there on time in the future.

Respectfully,
