While looking at some ratings data for the RC chair, I came up with some data that might prove interesting.

Here are the number of players, members (unique IDs) and games rated during 2009 by rating (100 point intervals), showing the number that were regular rated only, dual rated or quick rated only:

Looking at high rated players (1800 and up), the total activity by those players has increased, and most of that increase appears to be in dual rated events.

Interesting numbers. I notice there is a lot more dual rated in the ratings below 1000. I guess this just shows how many scholastic events are run at time controls of G/60 or faster. It seems like QR isn’t played much by players over 2300.

When I’ve looked at the time control information we have, G/30 is far more popular with scholastic-age sections than with sections with many adults in them.
