Interesting. Seems like a little bit of a “Me too!” after Brooklyn Castle, but I’m not going to knock it too much, because the story is one that can be told more than once.
I know some of the Detroit school teachers that are also chess coaches. They have had a strong program for years, and it continues to progress and grow. Hardly a “Me too!” story…
Wonderful video. It shows what caring teachers and parents can do. Now that the US auto industry is doing better, it would be nice to see the auto makers join in with the UAW to expand the program to other cities with urban, and rural, kids in need. Rather cost effective.
Do I really need to clarify that I was referring to the film, not the program?
