Reversed Expiration Date

uschess.org/msa/MbrDtlMain.php?10152763

From the August 2006 USCF Rating Supplent
USCF Expiration Date: 2/28/2007

From MSA records (updated 5/16/2007)
USCF Expiration Date: 2/28/2006

In light of a number of tournaments in MSA beginning after March 2006, probably the rating supplement is correct (expiration 2/28/207) and MSA is wrong?

The information on MSA is consistent with what is in our membership records. This individual resigned his USCF membership in August 2006.

I suspect if you check the latest Gold Master file you will find it also has the 2006 expiration date.

There are a number of situations which could lead to an expiration date being moved backwards in time rather than forwards, though none of them are particularly common.

Mike, just out of curiosity, if this individual does not have a current membership, how was he able to compete in a rated Quick event on 5/12/2007?

Possibly with a length-of-tournament membership?
