I saw in the latest sales supplement to Chess Life, the Gametime II has been discontinued. This was the first digital clock I bought. It was much cheaper than a Chronos and didn’t seem like such a pain in the arse to use. I heard GT II was designed by Frank Camaratta JR, of House of Staunton fame. Are they replacing it with a Gametime III?
The GameTime has had a rocky history, but recent versions of it were quite decent – except for the noisy buttons, a problem it shares with current Saitek models.
The GameTime was the first clock that was able to display all five digits of the main time (h:mm:ss), and the delay time as a digit, and the move count as 2 digits, all simultaneously.

My apologies for the off-top, but my hope this thread attracted attention of some Game Time II gurus who can possibly help me.
I have two used Game Time II clock with electronic piece appear to be working. The problem is that clocks are missing one of those big button cups, plus one clock is missing battery cover.
Obviously I cannot do much about missing battery cover, but my hope is to move the cup from one clock to the other, so at least I have one clock fully functional. The issue, it is not clear to me how to remove the cup safely.
If anyone done something like this before, please share your experience.
Have you tried contacting Excalibur? Perhaps they have some spare parts sitting around that they will no longer be needing.
