Since I maintain the US Chess Senior Players Facebook page, yesterday a friend sent me the following link to post there [2027 Maryland Senior Open – Irwin Qualifier | US Chess.org](https://new.uschess.org/2027-maryland-senior-open-irwin-qualifier)

The link gets you to the TLA for the Maryland Senior Open. However, the search function fails to find it. I tried the keywords “senior” and “Irwin”, both of which normally find such events. I also searched without a keyword for tournaments in Maryland. None of them found this event. Any idea why this might happen?

Just for the record, “searching” with no options also does not turn up that event by date (it would show up on either page 24 or 25) [https://new.uschess.org/upcoming-tournaments?page=23](https://new.uschess.org/upcoming-tournaments?page=23)

The event has a link (created automatically when the TLA was submitted), but it is still awaiting approval by the office. I assume this is because our local affiliate submitted it rather than the state association (MD Chess Assn). I presume the office is awaiting some sort of confirmation from the MCA

Thanks. I think I understand now.
