At present, when somebody posts a reply, the subject line in the reply is left blank by default. The person replying must fill in the subject explicitly. Since most people don’t bother with this, most replies show up with a blank subject line.
It would be better if the subject line in a reply would default to the subject line in the original post. The author of the reply could then change the subject line if he wishes, but if he does not, it should remain as it was.

Good suggestion, Bill. Sometimes the posts go off main topic a bit. Would probably need to email the webmaster or Nancy Evans, however. I sometimes forget, or don’t bother with the subject line, but I promise to do so from here on

If you’re replying, about 9 times out of 10 it is appropriate not to change the subject line – which is exactly my point. This forum DOES change the subject line – from whatever it was to blank – unless the person replying types in a subject line manually.
