The One Percent

Greetings,

I hope you had a happy 4th! I celebrated our liberty with some chess, as I didn’t realize the holiday and Tuesday collided until after I placed the tournament ads. However, some other chess nuts came out and the event goes on. You can join next Tuesday (7/11) with 2 half point byes and get the final 2 rounds of the July Mating Game (4SS, G/45d10, $10 entry, USCF-rated, prizes).

This week’s newsletter highlights a rarity in tournament chess: A Single Digit Black Vicory
