Clickbait.

Well, that would be their sister site Clickhole

You might like this fifties movie better than Bergman https://twitter.com/olimpiuurcan/status/1012904210558406656

what is your definition of “clickbait”? i thought it sorta humourous.

…scot…

Once you click on one of these articles, it is a pain to get out of them as they refresh new ads, slow your path, and sometimes freeze up. Time wasted looking at junk masquerading as information or humor.

It’s easier to give examples than a precise definition. Go to Google News, then click on any CNN article, then scroll to the bottom of the article. There will be photos and captions for maybe dozens of articles, most of which exist solely for the purpose of getting people to see ads; titles like “[Photos] They Definitely Regret These Hilarious Tattoos”, or “Teen superstar may be even better than Neymar”, or “Play this for 1 minute and see why everyone is addicted”.

Tough audience!

Hey, the greatest chess book McGuffin in world cinema (lots of competition for that title) is on YouTube!

1:44:00 is the spoiler, but you should really watch the entire film.

thanks, bruce. that was my thinking, too. but wouldn’t classify a link to the satirical “the onion” clickbait.

cheers, …scot…
