For those skeptical that chess is helpful with anything other than impressing the country club set, the book makes its case with examples illustrating the relevance of classic chess techniques in real world business dealings. Concepts such as “first mover,” “bad bishops,” “exchange sacrifices,” and “lucky or good and strong squares” rarely are discussed in the office, but Rice says successful executives use the logic behind these moves, “whether they know it or not,” to create strategy, manage people, and make decisions.

Never heard of it til now.
