Tournament ratings results in one part versus two

Does a tounery rated in two parts differ in any way from a tourney rated in one part?

For example does an 8 round Swiss rate differently if the first 3 rounds are sent in and then three weeks later the final five rounds are sent in —versus all eight being rated at once?
(due to the 30 day rule) My hunch in no.

Yes… there are bonus points lost for good performers if you do not rate all at once. More details at the ratings calculation documents in the Ratings section of this site.

Since they would be separate events, someone who does well over the course of all 8 games might miss out on some bonus points.

On the other hand, someone who does poorly in his first 3 games but finishes strong might actually get more bonus points than if all games were rated as a single event.
