…does anybody know if any of our members were killed in the Texas explosion or the Boston bombing?
The real question should be, was any USCF Member injured or killed in either Boston or West Texas last week? The answer is not to my knowledge, however a USCF Member that I know of did attend the Boston Marathon to watch his brother race in it, and thank his lucky stars that his brother ran the race in 2 hours 59 minutes to earn an invitation to next year’s Marathon, and one can say that he was running for his life (and his family’s) as at the 4 hour mark is when the chaos occurred. In talking with my friend, he indicated that in looking at the footage of the event, he was standing about 12 feet from one of the explosions an hour before, and he felt that he could have easily lost life or limbs.
