When do the games at the Olympiad start

If I read the schedule correctly, the games at the Olympiad will start at 3:00 PM local time (corrected), starting on Tuesday, 9/21.

I think Khanty Mansiysk Siberia is GMT + 5 this time of year, which I think means the games will start at 4:00 AM (CDT) (corrected) tomorrow.

Am I right?

I read somewhere 15:00 Siberian time, which is 12:00 CET and 6:00 EDT. Web coverage of the first round has been iffy in past years, and the broadcast of the opening ceremony suggests the trend may continue.

I apparently can’t read, the Olyjmpiad site ugra-chess.com/olympiad_schedule has 15:00 too. :sigh:

But I’m still not sure what time that is in the US, though I do NOT plan to get up in time to watch the live coverage, if any.

At 18:28 Central Time, it is 5:28 AM in Khanty-Mansi according to worldtimeserver.com/convert_ … &h=15&mn=0 ). (And I’m assuming that the game time from the schedule is in fact in local and not UTC…)

I don’t think I’m getting up to watch it, either. :slight_smile:
