Looking through an older chess magazine I came across an endgame article with a position attributed (in 1922) to F. Sackmann. When I tried to ‘Google’ F. Sackmann & chess I did get a number of listings for endgame problems attributed to F. Sackmann, but no listing for any biographical information. I was curious if there are any games by F. Sackmann, and what his connection was to chess in general.
The problem was Black King on d8, White King on d6, Black Bishop on g8, Black pawn on e4, and White Rook on c5. White to move and win.
