2008 Miami Open Prize Fund Reduction

In 2008, I was one of prizewinners in Miami Open Chess Tournament. After the tournament was completed and organizers failed to pay the 70% guaranteed prizes, I filed a complaint with USCF (see below). In the August of this year I have contacted the Rules Committee to verify the status of my complaint and was informed that the Rules Committee was still deliberating the issue.
Considering it has been over a year since I submitted my original complaint, I would appreciate the courtesy of a response as well as update regarding the timeline for the resolution of 2008 Miami Open Prize Fund situation.

I had heard that the USCF wasn’t doing anything about this case during the election because Messrs. Hecht and Lugo were running for the executive board, and they didn’t want to bias the election. Perhaps now that the election is over, they can get on with business.

I was informed that “The Executive Board requested several days ago that the Rules Committee release it’s report by Thanksgiving”. So, hopefully that will be the case.
