Affliate Emailing Service

Anyone used this new feature? Any thoughts on what % of your targeted area have emails available on the USChess data source? Or how difficult to exclude groups like scholastic or adult players? Or target ZIP codes?

Affiliate Emailing Service
Earlier this year, the USCF introduced a new service to do emails on behalf of USCF affiliates. We’re still working out some details, but our emailing service is the same one that we use to send out TLA Mail and promotional offers from USCF Sales, and it can also send out emailings for USCF affiliates about their upcoming chess events.
We are now in an open trial period where this service is available to all current USCF affiliates.

During the trial period the fee for these mailings will be five cents per unique email address selected, with a minimum of $20.00. There are no credits for bounced, rejected or undelivered emails. We may require payment in advance of sending out the emails.

I have used it several times and been pleased. I used it for a stand alone ad campaign as well as part of an overall campaign of snail mail + e-mails. It was fun and easy to use.

I’ve used it more than a few times. If you go to TD/Affiliate and select demographic queries, you can find pretty much the answer to all your questions, as well as experiment to see how many hits there will be.

I just used it for the first time. I’ll know within the next couple of months how effective it was. There were only 170 addresses in my query, but given where I am, I wouldn’t have expected more than that.

E-mail seems to do a much better job than postal mail at reaching currently active players. Postal mail labels seem to include a greater proportion of players who’ve retired from the scene.

It depends on how you do your search. I generally restrict it to people who have played within the past year. That helps to target active players.
