Check this out. Her and her dad have always done a nice job of promoting chess:
Chess and BBQ ! Now that’s a promotion I can live with! Thanks for sharing.
Sheffield’s is a nice bar in Lakeview (an easy walk from Wrigley Field), not a dive
All the locations of Oberweis Dairy are chess-friendly, including the new one a short walk south on Sheffield.
But how well do beer and ice cream mix?
Does this mean it won’t be on DDD, Guy Fieri’s show?
What is it with Monday night chess in Chicago? I’m new to the area, and I keep looking for places to play, but they all meet on the same night of the week. Between this article and another group I’ve found, I’m up to 3 groups I know about that meet on Mondays. Is there some local law against playing chess on other days of the week that I should know about?
Renaissance Knights meet on Sundays, Downers Grove meets on Wednesdays, Saint Charles meets on Thursdays, Willowbrook meets on Fridays.
And CICL meets on whatever weeknight the teams agree upon.
Evanston meets Tuesdays.

That one I noticed, but I haven’t been over there yet. That’s closer to home for me than any of the others.
Also, I know Sevan runs tournaments on weekends in Skokie, which I’ll probably start attending semi-regularly. I’ll probably pay for the membership to his club so I can get the discounted entry fees. I figure I’ll probably be there often enough to make that worthwhile.
I’m a regular there, too, and recommend it. I omitted mentioning it before, because it appeared you were looking for weeknight events.
By the way, the previously mentioned Evanston site also runs weekend events, but only once every two months. They’re always on Saturdays.
Your MSA listing still lists you as Tennessee, but you’ve played most of your tournaments in Florida, along with a few in Chicago. You really get around. Are you From Persia as well?

I still have no idea how USCF found out I was in Tennessee. I only stayed there for a few weeks during the transition while moving from Florida to Chicago, and I didn’t play any tournaments while there, though I did show up for skittles at a club one time. I’m assuming they must have gotten my temporary address there from my forwarded mail or something.
Anything to add to the base in Tennessee….
He’s the new Robert Feldstein!
