The player in question played two events on the same day. It seems that is where the system gets confused US Chess
This may still be a display issue, I’m looking into it.
I have a new set of candidate DBF and tab-delimited files for people to test. Email me for the link (mnolan@uschess.org)
The tab-delimited file is missing the game count fields, has different field names and the status field is a word rather than a single character, which probably means WinTD won’t be able to handle it.
The game counts data may not be readily available on MUIR without some additional coding.
I’ve asked them to change the field names, put in the game count fields but with zeroes in them, I did not ask them to change the status field to a single character.
If I get an updated tab delimited file I will make that set available too.
It’s also missing the FIDE federation field.
Yeah, did I forget to list that? I’ve got 4 or 5 different discussions in progress, hard to remember who I told what. :sigh:
Thanks for al your hard work, Mike!
I do not think it is a display issue
The player in question US Chess had a tournament on 10.26 where his rating goes 1741–>1757
Then he had two tournaments on 11.08. The system displays them backwards 1757 –> 1746 and 1746 –> 1782.
But for his next tournament on 11.10, it uses 1746 as the base again (instead of 1782)
One item for investigation:
Rene Phillips shows up in the test file as having a 0 quick rating, and that tracks what’s displayed:
But he’s also got a 2100 floor for quick, so shouldn’t that be in the file?

Questions forwarded to Leago.
I should have an updated allplayers file later this afternoon, with the field names changed but without data in the the games fields and probably the FIDE country field.
Will let people know when it’s available to test.
which test file are you referring to?
The test all ratings tsv file.
Might not have had the latest data, I’m still expecting an updated tab file today.
Yeah, this one looks like a problem. Nick is AFK today (possibly on new-daddy duty), not sure when it will be looked at.
The updated tab file is available now, email me for links (mnolan@uschess.org)
We may just have to go with what we have for the December Ratings List, because people need it ASAP.
That doesn’t mean we won’t look into this issue and figure out what happened there.
I may have lost the plot here. What exactly is my December rating supposed to match? The most recent all ratings file matches my live rating but not what is displayed at ratings as my December rating…
It looks like your November regular rating was 1607 and it will be 1594 in December with your most recent regular event being the battle of hastings one.
The 1607 rating probably came from the NCD event, but the latest post-event rating on that one is 1606.
Remember, supplements are a point-in-time snapshot of what we knew at the time of the supplement job, ratings for events often see slight changes with each new rerate.
That’s what I would expect, yes. So why, in the file that you sent for testing, do I have a 1607 regular rating rather than 1594? Shouldn’t the file be indicative of the December ratings?
Which file were you looking at, the one I released yesterday or the one I released a couple of hours ago?
I’ve looked at around 6 files so far, tough keeping them straight as to which had various issues.
