We’ve thought about including the time control information on MSA, but that might actually raise more questions than it answers.
Example, someone runs an event where Rounds 1-3 are G/30 and round 4-5 are G/45.
If the event gets listed as just ‘G/45’ are people who played in (or knew about) that event going to contact us saying, “You’ve got the time control wrong!”?
And they would be right. If you rate events with that sort of time control, then the report generated should say so.
No, I don’t care what the single-character codes are in the data base.
By the same token, if too much information is a bad thing because it raises too many questions, maybe we should go back to the days before crosstables were online at all.
