I am a tournament director and ran a tournament yesterday whose results I am trying to enter online. The last time I did this was in June, but things don’t seem to be working the way I remember them working. Has the way things work been changed, or am I simply misremembering?
If I select “Clubs & Tourneys” and then, in the drop down menu, select “TD/Affiliate Support Area” it takes me to a signin menu. But the only login ID I am aware I have for this page is the affiliate login ID for the club I run, which doesn’t provide anything I can select to enter tournament results.
I am not aware that I have a separate Login ID as a tournament director. If I tell it I forgot my login ID and key in my USCF number, all it sends me is the login ID of the affiliate.
I thought that perhaps things were changed and I now need to apply for a second login ID as a tournament director. But thus far I have not been able to do this. It seems to be telling me that I need to go to the “Members Only Area” to apply for one, but when I go there it asks me to key in my USCF ID and the pin from the back cover of my Chess Life, and when I do this, it simply resets the screen, clearing the two windows, and tells me again that I need to login. I have tried this repeatedly and the result is the same.
You’ve always needed a second login for TD. The procedure you describe should have taken you to this page: secure2.uschess.org/MembersOnly … equest.php. Are you sure the problem is not with security settings in your browser?
