Experience requirements waved?

Yep, check out those TD experience requirements in the rulebook. You can get some of them waved if you take the exam at a National Tournament closed book!

All you need to do is notify the office (Larry Pond) before the event that you want to take the exam (I suppose you could notify me in the hopes I will be at that National event) . That-a-way he can make sure the exam is there for you to actually take. A TD (usually an NTD) will administer the exam.

Wouldn’t it be great if the closed book exam was available to Seniors wanting to move up to ANTD

Yeah, but in that case the TDCC might just waive all the experience requirements except the category R tournament with an average player rating of at least 1800.

I think that they tried having senior TDs take the ANTD test closed book a couple of times, the results were such that they haven’t repeated the experiment.

Yep, we tried it but those that took the exam failed and indicated that the pressure of working on an essay exam under those conditions contibuted to their poor performance.

Bydadgumblameit, I’ll take the test under National tournament conditions, and the only excuse I’ll give for failing is “I’m not ready to be an ANTD”

Terry - that’s the second post from you I’ve seen that came in twice. How are you doing that?

But you’ve already ruled against yourself I’m afraid … If you can’t say something clearly enough that only ONE TIME is required … then you can’t be ready to be an ANTD yet

(j/k …)

actually, I’m probably just used to having to repeat myself to irate parents and coaches at scholastics that causes that

Really, I don’t know what’s going on with the duplicates. We’ll see what happens this time.

Mike,

I don’t think I’m double clicking the submit button, but two of my posts have duplicated themselves- feel free to delete. (I don’t see a delete button on my end).

maybe I’ve found the culprit - when I get impatient and click on the “go to your message” link, that seems to cause the problem.

For example:

  1. Post message
  2. Submit
  3. Go to your message (instead of waiting for the page to refresh itself)

I will post this without step 3

Sorry for the spam

Terry

I’m with Terry…I’d take the ANTD exam closed book if I could get some of those things waived! But, all of this is in the hands of the TDCC…

Andre E. Harding, Senior TD

From what I know of the ANTD exam, plus who passed and who did not when taking it open book, I would have NO INTEREST in taking it closed book.
