Few questions re: Friends and Family event at nationals

I see in the program book it states tht first round is at 10:30.

  1. What times are the subsequent rounds scheduled for?

  2. What is the time limit?

  3. It is 4 rounds?

  4. Is there multiple sections? (rated/unrated)

While I probably can not answer your question, I suspect those that could would need to know which program book at which event. :astonished:

That’s the problem the program book only say the 1st round is at 10:30, but gives no other information. Not very useful if one is trying to figure out if it’s feasable to participate and still be availabe at the start and posiibel finish of main rounds.

I assume you’re talking about the national elementary. They might not announce the details for the friends and family until next weekend. You can’t sign up for the friends/family until you get to the tournament anyway.

If you’re talking about a different tournament you need to let us know which one.

I’d expect the friends and family tournament will be scheduled so that friends/family of those playing in the main tournament can finish the entire friends/family tournament while the players in the main tournament play their first two games on Saturday. The rounds will probably be ASAP so that players will have time to get dinner with their kids before they (the kids) play in the evening round.

I think the F&F and the blitz event are both USCF rated these days, though the F&F and bughouse (non-rated) are onsite-registration-only.

I don’t have any information on round times, time control, etc.

The National High School Tourney had 4 rounds, game 45 with a rated and an unrated section. If I remember correctly, the round times were 10:30, 2:30, 4:30 and 6:30.

Thank you. That was what I wanted to know. I was trying to determine how the F & F rounds related to when the kids would be playing their rounds on Saturday.
