Can a certified TD (club) hold a tournament, without going through an affiliate?
An affiliate will be needed to submit the tournament report.

Ok, thank you. So, how does a chess club apply for affiliation? I could not find it on the website. I saw how to join as a member, as well as the TD/Affiliate support area, but could not find the Affiliate Application area.
Thanks again.
You are correct, it is not that easy to find. However, you will find what you need at https://secure.uschess.org/webstore/affil.php

Thanks again. What’s the difference between becoming a Regular Affiliate and a Scholastic Affiliate and a College Affiliate?
As I understand it, any affiliate can apply to be a regular affiliate, but only one connected with a school or a college can be a scholastic or college affiliate.

The form to apply for an affiliate (by mail ) is in the list of forms under “Resources”, in fact it’s the first item in the list since they’re sorted alphabetically by file name.
Only a USCF affiliate has the right to run USCF rated events. (There are situations in which the organization actually running the event is not a USCF affiliate, in such cases there still needs to be a USCF affiliate serving as the sponsoring affiliate of the event.)
