With all the discussion about the DGT board here recently, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a little problem that I’ve been having.
I can’t seem to figure out how to download the games off the DGT board. I ran a match recently that ended in a blitz playoff, and I was able to copy the moves manually into Chessbase, but I wasn’t able to save the games into .PGN files. What exactly do I have to do?
I just got my DGT board set up Wednesday and love it.
Interestingly enough, just this afternoon a friend and I tried to save the stored games in PGN format using the Queen 5 program. The system seems to lag and won’t save the games.
I was just going to start a thread asking the exact same thing as relyea.
So, HELP Can you folks with more experience on these boards help us with this software glitch?
I had no problem downloading from Queen 4 in the past, but when I tried to download from Queen 5 after my last tournament I couldn’t find the file to create the PGN.
If we don’t get an answer and I find time this weekend I might reinstall Queen 4 and see if it is a problem related to Queen 5.
With the board attached to the computer, click on the “board” tab, then “read storage from board”
Once the games have loaded, switch the view to “PGN preferences and output”. Use the rotary buttons next to “process game nr” to pick the game you want to view.
Click “save PGN” and name the file.
For some reason I still had problems the first time I tried this tonight with Queen 5. Once I opened Queen 4 then switched back to Queen 5 it worked. After rebooting my computer Queen 5 still worked fine without opening Queen 4. So if the above directions don’t work and you want to try Queen 4 send me a message and I will email you the files.
That worked. Thank you. What we were doing was finding the game in the moves and clock list screen then going to the pgn screen and trying to save it. I can tell you that doesn’t work.
Your way of going to the pgn screen and choosing the game and then saving it works great. Obviously this is a bug, probably a beetle, in this program.
