Is someone looking into the June ratings issues? The supplements just went up and the files are empty. There is no count either “This supplement contains ___ records.”
I note that the issue seems limited to the DBF version of the supplement - the text file, PDFs, and the all ratings files all seem fine, so if your process can handle any of those you should be good to go.
edit: my bad, this query is for the July ratings. I’ll open a new thread.
Did the June ratings include the new bonus thresholds changes?
Have two friends in the under 2100 section of the Chicago Open that did not see a difference between the official ratings for June and the rating given next day from the tournament crosstables.
Both faced some underrated high schoolers, and the rating hit was high.
Last week’s weekly rerate (starting on June 3rd) did rerate all the events affected by the bonus factor change from 12 to 10. Lowering the threshold increases the number of players earning bonus points, those who did not earn bonus points could still see minor ratings changes due to secondary effects.
For example, in the 2025 World Team, about 220 players earned bonus points in the last rerate of that event before the retroactive change, now that number is around 280. (The total number of players was around 1500.)
Regarding the 2025 Chicago Open, 157 players (out of about 880) earned bonuses in this event under the 12 point bonus threshold, 196 earned bonuses when it was rated under the 10 point threshold.
The June ratings list was generated in mid-May before the bonus threshold change, and before the Chicago Open was held. The July list was generated in mid-June, and the threshold change was retroactive to February. We do not go back and regenerate ratings lists when a retroactive change is made, because what the ratings list represents is what we knew about ratings as of the day the list was generated, which was before the bonus threshold change was announced.
