"Last" name switched with "First" name o

Hi,

On Tuesday I entered a couple of new memberships online through TD/A. The next day I noticed that I had inverted the first and last names of a player. I had first entered his name as:

WRONG!
First: Bhabal
Last: Guneshwar
WRONG!

I went to the TD/A area and I noticed I could correct “minor” errors in players names. I then reversed the order to:

CORRECT!
First: Guneshwar
Last: Bhabal
CORRECT!

This seemed to allow me to do this.

I’m now wondering if I did the proper thing? Will Guneshwar get one membership card that is incorrect and not receive the proper one?

If this wasn’t the best way to “solve” this problem, what would you recommend?

Thanks,
Tom Ewers

it’ll depend on whether or not his membership card had been printed yet. They don’t print them every day.

Having the first and last names reversed is a common enough situation that the spelling correction program checks for that and specifically allows it.

It won’t let you change Jim Smith to Bob Jones, though.

If I get back to that program on the cleanup pass, it would probably be possible to have it either order a new membership card automatically or at least check to see if one has been sent recently and schedule a replacement.

I’ll bring that up when I’m doing training in Crossville later this month.
