Lost Provisional Status in Tournament History

The tournament history used to show whether the player is provisional and also the number of games. Will that be returning?

The information is available on the player page currently; if provisional you see the / followed by the number of games played.

that’s different. the number of games info is not lost in published rating, but is lost in live post-event rating.

Of course, you would expect most us chess members to be able to do additions under 26 and figure it out, after some clicking and mental arithmetic. But that does not mean they should omit provisional status (number of games) in post-event ratings.

Got it. The information of how many games a player was counted as having in provisional status after a particular event seems fairly irrelevant compared to whether or not the player has an established rating or not, I would think, but I see the difference now.

The fix to that is in development, I don’t have an ETA.

The player page number of games are incorrect too.

For example, US Chess ID:32582637 , where the player’s

published rating is ”140 (Based on 4 games)”
live post-event rating is “220 (Based on 7 games)” .

But the player’s page says neither, instead, it says “140 / 7 ”

The MUIR display of “TOURNAMENTS MORE >” looks crazy now.

And if this is not a rerate in progress. It is a new bug suddenly appears and prevents everyone to look up live post-event rating.

Is this going to be hotfixed?

I don’t know, I marked it ‘urgent’ but I haven’t seen any indication that it’s been looked at yet, because I didn’t figure out what the problem was until around 5PM central.

it does not appear to be part of the api for the event section, yet.
hopefully they will add it soon – this is what I think I need to use to get most current rating(s) of a player -

That may be why there’s a delay in showing provisional status and game count on MUIR.

now on MUIR, it looks like live rating is directly showing up in the front page.

And any provisional rating in live rating is now showing as blank in the front page.

I think that was an early version of the december ratings list showing, which it shouldn’t because those ratings aren’t effective until december1st anyway

Ideally, what MUIR should show is both the current month official ratings and the ones for the next month when they become available, which is the case for the last week to two weeks of the month.

the front page ratings now shows provisional rating without number of games …

here is the link of test case for debugging not showing number of games in provisional rating…

Forwarded on to Leago.

now, it looks like it just use / 0 as number of games

for both established rating and for provisional rating. Divide by 0 is mathematically invalid

Yup, reported. Close but no cigar.
