In the old MSA players used to be sorted within a score group by rating.
This is not the case in MUIR.

Within a point group, players are NOT in order by their post-event rating. For crosstable of Quads (no prize was given and no tiebreaker system was used), the order looks rather arbitrary
I’m not sure what the order is, either. I’ll find out.
I guess the order is so mysterious that Mike was not able to find out
Nope, just haven’t heard back yet.
The Leago team is busy figuring out how to bill you for their non working APIs. please be patient
Could Leago disclose the what the order within score group is? Curious what the order is
I’ll try to get an answer to that on Tuesday, doesn’t seem urgent enough to do over the weekend.
this list function call: random.shuffle()
![]()
Alphabetically, by height.
This is a clear violation of the AUG 4.g

Leago says it’s by pairing number (from the upload file). I think SwissSys assigns pairing numbers by the rating used for pairing, which is many case would be the player’s last published rating, WinTD may do the same.
I would like to see us include tie breaks in an API for uploading events and use that, but that would be a post-launch add on that would need to be specced out and added to the budget. (And as noted in previous posts, score group in the final crosstable is not the same thing as score group for prize purposes.)
Tom Doan’s comments on tie break options:
I think that becomes excessively complicated. I would just have an
(optional) upload numeric column for placement and possibly a text
column for prize won (which could be filled in with a $$ amount or a
description). There are dozens of possible tie breaks (and note that
US Chess and FIDE have different rules for handling unplayed
games and opponents with unplayed games).
