This is my first time entering a tournament in the new system and I’v hit a few snags and need some advice on next steps:
-
When I hit validate it say my Affiliate Membership expired at the end of last year, but inside my file it says that my Affiliate Membership is valid and does not expire until the end of this year.
-
My husband and I are both USCF certified Club TDs
-
Also, I entered the start date as 4/20 and the end date as 5/11. Is that the correct way to do it, or do I need to do 4/20 to 4/20, then 4/27 to 4/27, then 5/11 to 5/11?
-
We did 2 Quads Round Robin
-
How do I remove the space for a 5th player that was added in error when I was trying to enter round 2 thinking I had to click add player button
-
How do I enter rounds 2 and round 3?
-
-
It looks like this can be entered as 2 sections rather then 2 separate ones
-
Does it impact anything if I put my name or his name on sections as lead vs. assistants? I’m thinking about the fact that we each need to do a certain number of tournaments with a certain number of participants by a certain time to go from Club TD to Local TD. Otherwise we’ll need to take a test.
-
One of the players name is not showing up when I search for it. I even searched using his US Chess Federation Youth Membership ID and it’s still not showing up. I can pull up the receipt for the payment of his membership if necessary. Please advise on what I need to do.
-
How do I indicate that the tournament was played on Mondays over a 3 week period? 4/20, 4/27 and 5/11? 3 games, 1 per day.
-
Do Quads count as promotable tournaments for a Club TD advancing to a Local TD? For promotion to Local TD you need to be the Lead TD for 1 of the tournaments out of 3.
Lots of questions here.
-
Quads count as an activity requirement for renewal, they may not be used for advancement to local if you are a club TD. Local credits require swiss tournaments as far as advancing.
-
Affiliate memberships can occasionally take 3-5 days to port to muir, Unfortunately there is no sync membership button that works for affiliate. My guess is it either hasn’t ported to muir yet, or you may have a duplicate affiliate that needs to be merged
-
4/20 to 5/11 is the correct way to do it.. games are not rated by round like fide, instead all games will be rated 5/11 (at least that is the way it worked in gambit)
-
Should be a plus button to add rounds, it is small and hard to see but it should be there near the top
-
Deleting player 5 is possible, its an option. May be hard to find first time.
-
2 sections for one event should be fine. You can also split into two tournaments if you desire
-
Chief Td lists tournament directors for the role they felt they worked, and or achieved. It is up to the chief TD to list TDs appropriately.
-
There is a sync membership button on your dashboard that should sync the membership to muir. If it was bought thru an affiliate you may need to wait for the affiliate to process the membership.
Hope this helps and gets you closer to having the event rated.
Always exciting first time entering an event. It’s a great feeling once it is rated.
Thanks. So Chief TD on 1 Swiss rated Tournament counts toward Local TD requirement, but Chief TD on 2 Quads Round Robins don not count, therefore two more tournaments that are Swiss rated. One with less than 50 players.
Chapter 7 of the us chess rule book talks about all TD requirements.
I would list the requirements for Local TD, but it is 1-2 pages.
I hope the link helps.
Are you the The Dawson Chess Academy? I think it will show your affiliate membership is good now. The manual sync works for affiliates.
You can run a tournament with over 50 players up to 60 players if you have a Chief Assistant and you use tournament running software.
The starting and ending date help determine the order in which sections are rated, so both are important and should reflect when the first and last rounds of that section were held.
I need the affiliate ID or 12 digit event ID to see what’s going on.
Thanks chessman102! When I clicked the symc to MUIR button and entered my student’s member ID it synced and now he’s showing up. I also found the Round 2 button. It’s a plus sign next to the Round 1.
Hi Nolan. I went back in and everything worked. The event was validated after I entered the state for each player that came up as an error.
I don’t think you should really have to enter the state, I’ll have to see if we have an open support ticket on that.
Can you send me the event ID so I can look into it?
