I am a tournament director for Chess Cardinals. When I go to look at the tournaments which we have directed so far, it only shows the last 250 events? Is there a reason why our earlier events are not showing up US Chess
Searching my TD record still shows 1500 entries and after the first thirty times having to scroll to “load more” it simply stays on “load more” until everything is loaded. It only goes back 17 years and 5 months, stops in the middle of one tournament and is missing the oldest 17 years and 3 months that TD/A has and MSA had.
The Pre-Muir affiliate history is still available in the old club history screen that the club search brings up.
The MUIR search by affiliate history does seem to stop at 250 records. At least it has one entry per tournament as opposed to the MUIR TD search that is one entry per section.
MUIR has your information back to the 1991 Glen Ellyn Fall Classic US Chess, although it may be a bit tougher to access.
I see…494 events and 1694 sections.
The MUIR system also has that similar data setup - I can see 818 events for our affiliate.
…in each case though I went through the API to get that and not just through the web interface.
There are a few places MUIR seems to cut short displaying all data.
I suspect in some cases it is volume related where the coding has some kind of sanity upper bound checking.
The other place I remember was with old detail for a non-current member – I was going to send in an example of this but I forgot the member ID.
It might have been off BY Year where the aggregate said a probably correct N games but drilling down was empty. Next time I see the anomaly I will post/report the issue.
I just checked Steve Immitt (over 3000 events directed) and it stopped at 1500. I’ll bring this up at a staff meeting, but it’s probably related to some anti-webscraping features.
